Housing Selection for Fall 2008
FMU Student Housing has changed the housing selection process to better serve your needs. Please read this notice carefully and call should you have any questions regarding the new process.

What do you need to do now —

  1. If you currently live on campus you need to pay your $150.00 non-refundable deposit. You can pay this deposit beginning in January 2008 and it is due no later than Friday, March 7, 2008.
  2. If you do not currently live on campus you need to pay your $250.00 deposit which is due no later than Friday, March 7, 2008. The $150 of the $250 is non-refundable. You must pay this deposit in order to participate in the housing selection process.
  3. Housing selection will no longer be a first come first serve opportunity. You will receive an information sheet with your sign-up number, date, and time that will tell you when to come to the Housing Office to select your Fall 2008 assignment.
  4. The number you receive will be determined by the date that you pay your deposit and your classification at the end of the Spring 2008 semester. Please check the University Catalog to find out your classification status based on credit hours.
  5. When you come to housing selection you will need to bring your information sheet and FMU student ID with you to the Housing Office.
  6. You will receive your information sheet the week you return from Spring Break. You will be able to come to the Housing Office to pick up your information sheet Monday, March 17th – Friday, March 21st from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. If you do not pick up your information sheet during this week it will be placed in your campus mail box on Monday, March 24th.
Rules that still apply for housing selection —

  1. You must have successfully completed 24 credit hours at the end of the Spring 2008 semester to be eligible to live in the apartments for the Fall 2008 semester.
  2. The $150.00 or $250.00 non-refundable deposit must be paid prior to Friday, March 7, 2008 in order to participate in the housing selection process.
  3. If you have people that you would like to room with you may come to the selection process with the student with the earliest date and time slot. All students must have paid their deposit by Friday, March 7, 2008 and all students must come at the same time to sign up as a group.
  4. If you live in an apartment and you would like to stay in your same room you may come to the Housing Office Monday, March 17th – Friday, March 21st to "squat" your current room assignment. If you do not come this week to fill out the appropriate paperwork by Friday, March 21st we will offer your space to another student during the housing selection process.
  5. Housing selection dates by classification are as follows;
    1. Graduates / Seniors – Tuesday, March 25th
    2. Juniors – Wednesday, March 26th
    3. Sophomores / Freshmen – Thursday, March 27th
  6. Your classification is determined by the number of credit hours you will have earned by the end of the Spring '08 semester. Classes taken over the summer do not count for the March Housing Selection.
